You Can Legally Resell Digital Games

The European Union Court of Justice has ruled that publishers can no longer stop you from selling on downloaded titles. The ruling states that “an author of software cannot oppose the resale of his ‘used’ licenses allowing the use of his programs downloaded from the internet.” Leading onto the fact that “if the license agreement prohibits a further transfer, the right holder can no longer oppose the resale of that copy.” From a technical standpoint this means that games purchased through digital platforms can be sold onto other users, if there was only a means to achieve this.
