Yes, you heard correctly. The Xbox 360 sold 1.9 Million units over the festive period. Not only that, but December 2010 became Microsoft’s biggest month in Xbox history. No doubt Kinect had something to do with it.
There were a few worries about Microsoft earlier, when Major Nelson published on his twitter that Microsoft had actually ran out of units to ship out, meaning the Xbox 360 was on high demand, but at the same time, it mean’t Microsoft could no longer ship any more Xbox 360’s. A spokesperson for Microsoft said “Microsoft still experienced out of supply situations in late December, and it expects supply constraint to continue in January and February as it works with retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments to replenish the channel.”
Just in December alone, Xbox 360 products earned $6.2Billion. Does this mean Kinect could still have had something to do with that money total?
The top 3 selling Xbox 360 games of December were Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Kinect Sports.
