What’s PowerUp Heroes you may ask?
Well Ubisoft have a huge interest in Kinect, releasing Michael Jackson: The Experience and Child of Eden, and now this game all within a few months. They have announced development on a new Kinect game, called PowerUp Heroes, which is a full-body combat game. Now it’s not developed by Ubisoft, but it will actually be published by them. The game is developed by Longtail Studios, who have a bit of history with Ubisoft.
PowerUp Heroes “lets players transform their Xbox 360 avatar into a custom superhero to face off in a fight against the forces of evil”.
In the game, players will use their entire body to launch projectiles, dodge strikes and counter deadly attacks. Not only that, but there is also a co-op two player online showdown, as well as local two player versus and four player tournaments.
“There are 20 super suits to collect including the mighty Necromancer suit which allows the player to control a horde of skeletons, and the Mentalist suit that gives the player the ability to break into their enemy’s mind.”
The game is due for release in June 2011.
