Skype Now Available for PS Vita

It took a little while to reach the PS Store, but the app is finally here. Now you can call friends, family and even the pizza place around the corner all from your very own PS Vita, 3G or Wi-Fi (of course with 3G, you can Skype anywhere). The video below demonstrates how you can use the app, where if you have the Skype app open, you can play a Vita game and you’ll be notified if someone is calling you… and yet you STILL can’t look at web browsers whilst playing a game?! “Our users appreciate being able to access Skype features wherever and whenever they choose,” said Manrique Brenes, senior director, consumer electronics group at Skype. “With the launch of Skype for PS Vita, we are taking another step towards our ultimate goal of making Skype video calling available on every platform, all over the world, and meeting the demands of existing PlayStation users to offer video on a gaming console.” The app is out now for US Vita owners, and will be available tomorrow (25th April) for those in Europe.
