Kotaku have stated that Sony studio owned Zipper Interactive are in the process of closing their doors. Zipper Interactive are the developers of MAG, SOCOM and the recent PS Vita title Unit 13.
The site claims to have “heard chatter for several days that Zipper was in the process of being hit with layoffs and a project cancellation. The scope of the layoffs appears to indicate a studio shutdown.”
It’s important to take stories like this with a pinch of salt, especially considering Sony’s love for exclusive titles. Even if Zipper did get the axe I’m sure the staff would find work in one of Sony’s many other studios.
