The rumoured date for the announcement of Microsoft’s next console has been delayed until May. Previous reports suggested we’d see a public announcement on April 24th, but those excited for the reveal should put May 21st into your date book.
Apparently it will be a small event, with details about the upcoming console and their plans for the Xbox brand throughout 2013. The rumor mill has been in overdrive lately, with independent Microsoft blogger Paul Thurrott noting that the console would require always-on internet to function and that there will be two SKU’s, the first is $500 dollars off the shelf, the second selling at $300 but charging a subscription fee.
Obviously take these with a pinch of salt, I doubt Microsoft will talk pricing at the event regardless.
