With Guitar Hero and Rock Band hanging up their plastic instruments, hope for the genre lies with Ubisoft’s Rocksmith which rocketed into the United States last October.
Rocksmith allows you to plug in almost any electric guitar, amplifying your musical knowledge whilst playing a game. This is coupled with a dynamic difficulty setting revolving around the way you play, meaning if you can land a chorus but fail the solo, the game will take mercy, dropping notes from the solo whilst making the chorus more challenging.
With the Bass Guitar expansion on the horizon, Ubisoft considered it time we see the game released on European shores. Guitar and rhythm fans rejoice, because Rocksmith hits the stage in Europe on September 27th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the PC release stalled until October 18th (later release? What a shock).
