Yesterday Sony announced that the US would not receive the UMD Passport service that launched alongside the Vita in Japan. This service allowed users to save UMD’s to their PSN SEN account, paying a small fee to re-download the game. It was widely assumed that Europe would suffer a similar fate as the US.
A spokesperson from Sony Europe had this to say “We’ve not made any announcement about the program in the UK and Europe as yet. We’ll let you know as and when that changes.”
Could it be that the UMD Passport service will be made available across Europe? I personally wouldn’t mind paying a couple of pounds to see Persona 3 Portable on my Vita (not forking out £27.99 on the SEN Store mind you). How would anybody in America feel if they were to miss out on the Passport scheme?
