Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo announced Pokemon X & Y during a live stream earlier this day. Pokemon X & Y marks the series debut on Nintendo 3DS, but more importantly the titles have finally transcended colour boundaries.
During the Nintendo Direct stream, Iwata explores the history of the franchise and the gaps between Japanese and Western releases (hint hint). The series has advanced in leaps and bounds since its inception in 1996, exploring new features whilst retaining core gameplay. At least that’s the way it used to be, for the first time ever explore a 3D world, as the number to catch em’ all continues to skyrocket exponentially.
Considering the titles advance along hardware, expect use of streetpass and more with the release of Pokemon X & Y this October in Japan, the United States, Europe and Australia.
