OnLive UK Release Date & Eurogamer Expo Giveaway

Eurogamer got the exclusive news. Throughout last night, Eurogamer posted on their Twitter that they had some really exciting news that had nothing to do with Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo. I presumed it might have something to do with Sega, Google or Apple, possibly with a new console. I was partly right. OnLive have announced the date for the UK release of OnLive and its console to be 22nd September. The UK launch of the service will come with over 100 games, to try, rent or buy. If you didn’t know what OnLive is, basically all your games are streamed via the internet, so there’s no need to have a high grade gaming pc… but you might want a great internet connection. From personal experience, I have Amnesia on my US account and on my laptop on Steam, I can’t even run Amnesia, but using OnLive’s streaming service, I can! OnLive founder and CEO Steve Perlman said, “OnLive will utterly transform gaming in the UK. No discs, big downloads or specialised hardware needed. OnLive gives you the latest games instantly, anytime, anywhere on HDTV, PC, Mac, as well as iPad, Android tablets. High-performance gaming as accessible as streaming video, with unique social features such as massive spectating with voice chat and Facebook integration.” And here’s some big news. Are you going to Eurogamer Expo 2011 this year? Well not only will you be able to play some amazing demos… but you’ll also get a free OnLive console, which in america, costs around $100. Nobody knows if they’re limited, but if they are, you better get one fast. UPDATE: Speaking through to someone on twitter, Eurogamer tweeted that the consoles will be spreak out during the 4 day expo, so yea there will be a limited supply. SO GET THERE FAST when Eurogamer begins 22nd September. For full details, click here.
