Microsoft’s Creative Director, Adam Orth took a joke one step too far last week, shooting his company in the foot by declaring his love for always-on devices, continued with a series of terrible analogies. Microsoft have labelled his comments as “inappropriate,” issuing the following statement:
“We apologise for the inappropriate comments made by an employee on Twitter yesterday, this person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products or how we would communicate directly with our loyal consumers.”“We are very sorry if this offended anyone, however we have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter.”
Whilst Microsoft are keeping details on their as-of-yet unannounced console under wraps. Hopefully the backlash Orth generated was enough to quash any always-on ideas the company may have had.
