Long overdue PC upgrade is complete

I built my first gaming PC in the summer of 2010, back then my PC was capable of playing games at high settings at best, some games had to be played at medium settings, it wasn’t top of the line PC, it was built on a budget, I was lucky enough to get some parts from Intel, they sent me a motherboard and a CPU which allowed me to spend more money on other parts, it wasn’t much but it was mine. Overtime games i wanted to play on PC weren’t performing so great, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag for example was running quite badly, I was lucky to get stable 30fps on medium settings, and Watch_Dogs? don’t even get me started… Needless to say the only thing that would solve this was an upgrade, So i started putting money aside and eventually had enough for an SSD, Brand new case and after getting paid one of the best GPU’s money can buy, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. Why waste money on a new case you might ask? well couple things, I was very bored of my NZXT Phantom, it was very loud, and it was too big, I was going to get a new case long before i even thought about saving for upgrading my GPU. This sudden upgrade was very impulsive, it was Black Friday when it all begun, someone on my timeline on twitter tweeted a link to a 256GB SSD on Amazon, I thought about getting an SSD long before and seeing a 256GB Crucial SSD for only £59.99 was very attractive, after thinking about it for a few minutes i went ahead and purchased it, few days later I got paid and let’s just say another Black Friday deal was online, this time it was a EVGA GTX 970 on Overclockers, I purchased it without thinking too much about it, Overclockers oversold and i was left waiting for them to get more in stock, few days later i got tired of waiting, after watching countless YouTube videos and reading many reviews i decided that i wasn’t going to wait any longer and decided on paying quite a lot extra and getting the reference design of the GTX 970, (wait till you see the pictures below, maybe you’ll understand why i went ahead with it instead) While i was waiting for that to dispatch… I suddenly got an urge to upgrade my case. This happened when someone on twitter tweeted saying that their new NZXT H440 arrived, i looked online and within 10 minutes i purchased it, like i don’t even know how this happened, so in the end i bought an SSD, new GPU and even a case, I honestly didn’t even know i could afford all that, turns out getting paid has an effect on your spending. Here are my old specs
  • Case – NZXT Phantom (White)
  • Motherboard – Intel  Desktop Board DX58SO2
  • CPU –  Intel Core i7 970 3.20GHz
  • GPU – AMD MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III
  • HDD – SAMSUNG HD103SJ (1TB) &  HD154UI (1.5TB)
And my new glorious specs
