Sony are trialling a new system for free to play gaming on the PlayStation Network.
Killzone 3 multiplayer will be available for download on PSN/SEN from next week, drawing the popular multiplayer franchise including all the of multiplayer modes and maps, even the downloadable content.
Guerrilla Games have explained that players have access to all the multiplayer material until the level of Sergeant before needing to pay $15 to continue gaining levels and trophies. Thus far the release will only be on the US PlayStation Network, but if successful, it could lead to similar schemes in Europe.
It’s an interesting move from Sony and a good advertisement for their PlayStation exclusives, which despite the sheer number of them, they still are outsold by the few Xbox exclusives.
