Distant Worlds To Return In 2012

Last weekend I had the honor of being an audience member at the Royal Albert Hall when Distant World’s came to the UK for the first time ever. For those who don’t know Distant World’s is a collaboration between Square Enix, composer Nobuo Uematsu and conductor Arnie Roth playing orchestral versions of the award winning music Final Fantasy has created over the last 24 years. Final Fantasy has won numerous awards over the years for it’s music, the majority of which was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Final Fantasy VIII’s “Eyes On Me” was the first song from a video game at the 14th Japan Annual Golden Disk Awards voted as (Song of the Year (Western Music)), whilst the score for Final Fantasy XIII composed by Masashi Hamauza won “Soundtrack of the Year” during 2010’s Golden Joysticks. So anyway whilst there, it was announced by Arnie Roth that Distant Worlds would be returning to the Royal Albert Hall on the 17th of November 2012, with tickets on sale this December, meaning that the next performance will be on Final Fantasy’s 25th Birthday. Arnie asked the audience to suggest to him ideas for this momentous occasion… …at which point someone called out “FINAL FANTASY 7!!!!” Anyway check out the video “To Zanarkand”, main theme of Final Fantasy X below.
