This year is the 20th Anniversary of the studio Bungie, and this November, the 10th Anniversary of the Halo franchise. On Bungie Day (7/7), all work from here on out will transfer over to 343 Industries and Bungie will no longer be a part of the saga they started. Sad times. They’re moving onto bigger and better things, and they want to do it in style.
Beginning June 23rd and continuing up to Bungie Day, the developer will be celebrating the last twenty years by giving their community the chance to get involved and get stuff out of it. New nameplates and a new armour effect for everyone, a brand new app to keep track of all things Bungie, a charity auction of their Halo artwork, Bungie Store Bonanza, and plenty more.
Also making a return from previous years will be the Bungie vs. The World marathon where most of the staff will be online playing against the Reach community. Beat them by 20 kills or more and get some goodies.
Finally, we’ll also be finding out what Bungie Aerospace is. The developer has said previously that the announcement of their Activision game is a long way off, so it’s likely unrelated.
You can get all the details on the festivities here from the dev themselves. Being a big Halo fan myself, and being there to play all of the Halo games close to or on launch, I’ll certainly be getting involved. Will you?
