Opinions on the latest Call of Duty title are mixed. Fans are eagerly waiting for the next title, Black Ops 2, which is scheduled for release later this year. On the opposite side of the fence, vocal voices grow tired of the series, who prefer Battlefield 3 or ignore first person shooters entirely.
Online retailer Amazon.co.uk have revealed that Black Ops 2 has broken pre-order records and the orders received yesterday were triple that of the games predecessor, Black Ops.
Graham Chambers the UK video games manager for Amazon said that Black Ops 2 is “set to be one of the biggest games of the year.,”“It’s great to see so much enthusiasm and anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops II” he continued.
With pre-orders at record levels even before the announcement of a Hardened Edition, could it be that Call of Duty is making a return as the king of first person shooters? Does it deserve to?
