Bethesda Softworks has announced the release dates for 4 multi-platform releases, all being titles that are highly anticipated by gamers: Brink, Hunted: The Demon Forge, RAGE, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim. Seems like gamers are going to take a serious hit to their wallets this year. I know mine is.
Here is some information on these upcoming releases:
Brink: Release date: May 17, 2011 for North America, May 20, 2011 for EuropeBrinkis an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Splash Damage. It features a story mode playable online with up to 8 players in a co-operative style, against bots, or in competitive team death match multi-player. You can play as a fully customizable character. Custom characters can be created with gear bought with experience points earned by completing objectives. Brink also features Splash Damage’s SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) System. It allows players to make their way around complex environments without difficult controller input by analyzing their position and predicting what they are trying to do. For more info go HERE.
Hunted: The Demon Forge: Release date: June 1, 2011 for North America, June 3, 2011 for EuropeHunted: The Demon’s Forge, is an upcoming third-person action video game set in a dark fantasy world. Two soldiers, E’lara and Caddoc, go on a search for an artifact, of which Caddoc had a vision about. The game will feature co-operative multiplayer. E’lara will be able to use a bow and small weapons, while Caddoc will have access to larger melee weapons. You will also have access to spells. The player will have the option to explore large areas. RAGE: Release date: September 13, 2011 for North America, September 16, 2011 for EuropeRAGEis a first-person shooter in development by id Software. It runs on the new id Tech 5 engine.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland created by an asteroid impact, based on the real life asteroid Apophis. In RAGE, the asteroid hits, and the few remaining survivors are forced to start a new civilization. The world is populated by human survivors of the impact, who have come joined up to form settlements around oases and other habitable locations. These homes are defended by the inhabitants against bandits and mutants, which have an organization of their own. Bandits and mutants will be the player’s main enemies for much of the game, although id Software has talked about some sort of significant change around the halfway point in the game. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Release date: November 11, 2011 (11.11.11) WorldwideThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimis a role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the 5th installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following IV: Oblivion. Skyrim is set two-hundred years after the events of Oblivion in the land of Skyrim. The country has erupted into civil war after the assassination of its king. At the same time, the god Alduin, which takes the form of a massive dragon, sets out to destroy the world. The player character is perhaps the last living Dragonborn, and must fight off Alduin and save Skyrim from annihilation. Skyrim retains the traditional open world gameplay found in the Elder Scrolls series while adding many new features to improve on the formula. For more info go HERE.
