Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Announced

Frictional Games had teased a new Amnesia game, and now we know what it is. Titled “Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs”, it’s set to be released this Halloween. If you were hoping to see the return of a few memorable characters from the first game, unfortunately it won’t carry on with the story from the first game. What’s more is that the developers of “Dear Esther” (thechineseroom) are also signed on to help develop the sequel. “It’s not a direct sequel, in terms of it doesn’t follow on from the story of Amnesia. It doesn’t involve the same characters”, Dan Pinchbeck told Joystiq. Whilst he said it wasn’t a continuation of the story, it is still set in the same universe and is set in 1899. It tells the story of Oswald Mandus who has returned from Mexico after a disastrous expedition. He’s haunted by dreams of a dark mysterious machine, where months later, the very machine can be heard as he comes out of his slumber…
