10 Million Kinect Sensors Sold Worldwide

Back in January, it was revealed around 8 million Kinects had been shipped in the first 80 days. Today, around 126 days since it’s launch (yes, time has flown by), Microsoft have confirmed that 10 Million Kinects have been “SOLD”!   This is a huge milestone for Kinect, and this now makes Kinect the “fastest-selling consumer electronics device”… that is according to the Guinness World Records! On average, Kinect has sold 133,333 units per day. The record confirmation comes not long after the latest release of the Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition, which features dedicated sections to Kinect.   “The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Gaz Deaves who is Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records. “According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”   What an achievement!
